Ethical Brand Directory is about to turn 3-years old. On the 17th of July 2020, we will be holding a party online to celebrate. We cannot wait to look back over the past 3-years, share with you what’s next, enjoy some celebratory drinks, as well as some thought-provoking conversation from our panellists about the future of impact brands, and we’ll be welcoming up to 5-brands who want to pitch their business to us.
With the last few months being in isolation, we know how important it is to come together online. Just because we’re still unable to come together in person doesn’t mean we can’t have a party – and do it in style. This year we’ll be asking you all to get your glad rags on as we’ll be awarding a prize for the best dressed.
So make sure you submit your snaps to and tag us on social media for your chance to win a prize! Use the hashtags #EBD3rdBirthday #EBDBestDressed – and we’ll announce the winner towards the end of the night.
There will also be a big reveal for Ethical Brand Directory’s 3rd Birthday!

The Journey so far
A message from our founder, Roberta Lee
” I think the hardest thing about being an entrepreneur that wants to make a positive impact is the impossibly high standards we set for ourselves. It can be a tough and often thankless task setting up a business. It is said that 8 out of 10 entrepreneurs fail within the first 18 months, according to Bloomberg. And we’ve all heard the scary stat that 80% of businesses will fail in less than two years too. It’s also estimated that 50% of small businesses fail in their fifth year. This is why EBD’s monthly coaching and accountability calls, weekly breakout video calls are so important for our members. Community is everything when you are starting out and I am very proud of the wonderful network we have at EBD, that is London based, but also spans across Europe to Canada and the US.
I have never believed in something as much as Ethical Brand Directory and it’s potential to help change the world – but it’s not been easy. I haven’t always got it right, some things I have tried to do have completely flopped. It’s because of my firm rooted belief that EBD can make a positive impact – I have not given up. Transitioning ‘conscious consumerism’ from a niche to a norm was never going to be easy, it’s not an overnight process. I’m grateful that EBD is still going, and we’re still growing, we’ve been able to adapt to the new climate, and move into a new phase of development. I cannot wait to share the highlights over the past few years, especially that last 6-months and share what’s next, at this years birthday bash. See you there! ”
