Ethical Brand Directory is excited to announce the chosen brands that will join the EBD Boutique at Spirit of Christmas. 60 million Christmas presents were given last year, with almost £1 billion on the wrong presents in the UK alone. At a time where people’s values are shifting, going vegan, being sustainable, not wanting to support slave labour, buying British, supporting female-led businesses – shopping for gifts can become quite stressful. Spirit of Christmas visitors will be able to experience a different kind of shopping this year – one where they can shop based on their values and discover the empowering stories behind each brand they buy from.
Our Founder Roberta Lee said “I’m delighted to be able to present a special ‘Ethical & Sustainable Edit’ as a feature at the Spirit of Christmas which will highlight the core values of each brand and make it easier for curious shoppers who want to shop their values this year. As the chief curator of the showcase, I am keen to spread the message of a more conscious Christmas and a life less throw-away, where we respect quality, craftsmanship, people, and the planet.”
EBD doesn’t judge people for their choice of values, we are open-minded and provide options for everyone whether that’s being vegan, zero-waste or simply wanting to switch to investing in higher quality longer-lasting items made by brands that are doing ‘good’. This approach means we are able to offer a more inclusive experience that we hope Spirit of Christmas visitors will enjoy.
Our partnership with Spirit of Christmas this year is an important step for us and getting our message out there that an ethical and sustainable Christmas is for everyone – and you don’t need to compromise on luxury or style either.
