As well as being the owner and founder of Ethicly, Nikki is a leading digital strategist with 20 years of experience under her belt. She is also highly experienced in a range of e-commerce sectors utilising the Shopify and WordPress platforms.
HOW TO BUILD YOUR BRANDS AUTHORITY WITH SEARCH ENGINES
This month Nikki was talking to us about how we can build our brands authority with search engines. There were a few keys points to this that Nikki highlighted in her session:
- Being user friendly
- Shout about you and your brand
- Using your content
BEING USER FRIENDLY
Nikki mentioned a few ways in which you can make your website as user-friendly as possible. The first is to be contactable. Nikki recommends having your business contact information,
- telephone
- email address
- business address
Visible on every page on our website so consider using a header or footer for this.
Another thing you can do to improve how user-friendly your website is is to have user-friendly policies in place such as:
- having a clear refund and return policy
- a privacy policy that explains how you manage your customers data
- a terms and conditions page
SHOUT ABOUT YOU AND YOUR BRAND
One of Nikki’s biggest pieces of advice when it comes to building authority is ‘don’t be shy’, you can’t be afraid to show off and shout about you and your business.
Get those reviews, they are a massive signal of trust. Google reviews is an amazing tool for this. Responding to reviews is another great way to build that trust.
If you have awards, show them off! Don’t be afraid to brag about your achievements. They show your audience that you have authority and expertise in your area.
USING YOUR CONENT
Content is vital when it comes to showing your authority on a certain topic. Nikki really recommends regular new content and outreach content when comes to building up authority.
