Every year most of us, if not all of us, send the message of ‘Happy New Year’ in mass batches via instant message to all of our friends and family to let them know we are thinking of them, and wish them the best, as we head into a new year.
This little act of kindness will be even more important this year as with the way things are. Many of us will find ourselves separated from the loved ones we would usually bring in the new year with. But this has got us thinking, maybe it’s time to rethink the generic ‘Happy New Year’ text message and make it more meaningful.
Rethink Your New Years Message & Make it More Special
A lot of us haven’t seen our loved ones very much in the past 2 years because of COVID-19, and we could be separate from them again this New Year’s, so why not let them know how much you miss them and make your New Year’s message a little more special this year?
- Tell your loved ones what you miss about them
- Share a special memory
- Or something fun you did together
- What you hope to do again with them soon in 2022
Get Creative With Your New Year’s Message
If you’re up for something a little extra, you could always create a special little memory montage. This is easier than it sounds, as most phones these days have a built-in video feature that turns your memories into little video sequences without the need for editing. All you need to do is pick out the images that shouldn’t be there. The AI face recognition feature on your phone should be able to help you with this. But, it is not always the most reliable. Here are some useful tutorials to help you out,
If your phone doesn’t already have this built-in video feature, or you would like more creative control over your videos, here are some other cool apps that help you to edit and create short movies on your mobile device.
We hope you felt inspired by this thoughtful take on our New Year’s message. A little bit of extra effort doesn’t cost anything and is guaranteed to put a smile on someone’s face in this festive season.
Here’s to a 2022 with more positive memories ahead.
Stay safe,
