Christmas Activity – Create Your Own Homemade Gift Vouchers

DIY gift vouchers are perfect, for the person in your life who has everything.  You know what they say, ‘actions speak louder than words’, so this year why not give the gift of service to someone you love.

Gift Certificates of kindness

There are so many different things you could put in your act of service promise. Have a think what would that person appreciate you doing for them more than anything? What’s important to them?

You could commit to doing something practical, we’ve all got those ‘jobs’ that we say we’ll get done but never do. So why not make a commitment and put a timeframe on actually getting them done and gift this ‘act of service’ to a special someone who would really appreciate that being ‘ticked off the list’.

This could be anything, from organising the garage or finally doing up the spare room. If there’s nothing you can think of that needs doing and you’re having trouble coming up with something, think about what skills you have to offer and what you can do for your loved one.

On the other hand, if there is nothing in particular you have previously talked about doing, you could simply gift someone the act of something nice you know they would appreciate, and instead of having a time frame, allow the person to cash the voucher whenever they need it.

A couple of examples of this could be, if they are a parent give them a night or two off, make them their favourite meal or maybe clean the house!

If you are really struggling on what acts of service you could gift your loved one, here is a list of 101 acts of service ideas to help you out.

Get creative with your gift vouchers

Once you’ve decided on what acts of service you want to gift, it’s time to make your gift certificates.

Why not get creative with your gift vouchers? You could put your crafting and DIY skills to good use and make them by hand, this would add a lovely personal touch. You could head over to Pinterest for some creative inspiration.

For those of us not so blessed in the crafting department, try some easy to use graphic design tools, such as Snappa or Canva to make your vouchers extra special.

Both of these programs are free to use (paid versions are optional) and will make your gift vouchers look so professional and smart. If you are unsure on how to get started, here are some quick and easy tutorials to help you out:
