Lyme Terrace is a menswear brand dedicated to producing clothes in harmony with nature. It was started by two friends in London’s Camden Town with the aim of inspiring change through the medium of clothing.
Lyme Terrace offers an alternative fashion model that values social, environmental and economic capital as equal. They do this by only using certified organic, regenerated or recycled fibres for their garments; they then manufacture locally in the UK (mostly London) to guarantee fair working conditions and environmental practices along the supply chain. Transparency is ensured by a refreshingly open pricing model that shows all the costs and profit markups.
Sourcing & Supplier Transparency
Lyme Terrace work with a small family ran ethically aligned production facility in North London, 3 miles from Lyme terrace HQ to produce their shirts. For their first-generation bamboo t-shirts, they partnered with an eco-textile manufacturer close to Shanghai to knit the fabric (they also visited the factory in November of 2016l).
Lyme Terrace also worked with a small family-run production unit in Cornwall to cut and sew their first generation bamboo t-shirts (they hire a great team of local seamstresses) and they use Imprime embroidery who are based out west near Rayners Lane for any sewn embellishments on their clothes.
One fabric supplier that they work with is based in Berlin. Their ethos is perfectly aligned with Lyme Terrace and are completely transparent about the origins of their raw materials. They specialise in organic and fair-trade fabric of the highest quality with manufacturing partners in Turkey, Europe and India.
